If you're ready to tear up some serious terrain, then you've got to check out these top ATV parks in South Carolina. Go on an off-roading adventure in an enclosed park to practice some new tricks, try out some new gear, or get a handle on a new toy. Here are the top five ATV parks in South Carolina we think you should visit if you're ever in the state.
Gulches Off Road Vehicle Park
The small town of Waterloo, South Carolina, is home to Gulches Off Road Vehicle Park, one of the best in the state. It welcomes all sizes of rigs, riders young and old, those who are experienced off-roaders, newbies to the sport, and everyone in between. This park has 17 miles of trails rated for all rider levels, from easy-peasy to skull-and-crossbones difficult.
It's only $25 to ride for a driver and a vehicle and an additional $5 per passenger. This family-friendly park also has primitive camping available, so pitch a tent, bring a small RV, or even sleep in your vehicle. Stay just one night or grab a weekend pass for $50, which includes one vehicle, one driver, all the passengers in the rig, and a camping site.
Weekend warriors rejoice because Gulches is only open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Riding happens from 10 a.m. until dusk or 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sundays. Be sure to also keep an eye on their website and social media in case they close for weather that's too rough for riding.
Iron City Motorsports Park
Head up to northeastern South Carolina, just below the North Carolina border, to visit Iron City Motorsports Park. The main track is about 1.5 miles long across relatively easy terrain, including grass-topped hills and through some trees. That makes this park perfect for those at the novice or amateur level, though expert riders might enjoy a more relaxing cruise around the park.
While you'll see quite a few motorbikes and dirt bikes, you'll be in good company with your ATV. Iron City also co-sponsors events with Big Oak Entertain, who puts on local riding competitions throughout the year, so you know this park means business.
The best part is that you can also ride at night since the park has plenty of lights and is open from 6 a.m. to midnight every day, except Sundays. Iron City Motorsports is located at 120 Henson Road in Blacksburg.
Carolina Adventure World
This park has adventure in the title, so you have to trust that it'll live up to its name. Carolina Adventure World is located in Winnsboro, South Carolina, just west of Lake Wateree. With scheduled night rides, convenient vehicle storage, and over 100 miles of rated trails, it's one of the best ATV parks in SC and could be the perfect ATV park of all time.
Across the park's 2,600 acres, you'll ride over creek crossings (thanks to the nearby Lake Wateree's runoff), through wooded forests, and on groomed trails of varying difficulties. If you want to get dirty, head to the mud bogs, or if you're looking for a real challenge, climb the Rock Crawl and Mammoth Hill.
With so much terrain to cover, you'll need a great sound system to keep in the zone. Try the Stealth Surge 10 Speaker on for size.
When you're all done riding, clean up at the showers, enjoy the 18-hole disc golf course, stock up on supplies, gear, and apparel at the on-site shop, and then camp for the night. Oh, and you can get your grub on, too, including pizza and wings. You can visit Carolina Adventure World at 1515 Arrowhead Road in Winnsboro every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
River Neck Acres ATV Park
Also known to locals as Double J Farms, River Neck Acres is located in Florence, South Carolina, in the middle of the state. This park is known for its mud, somewhat maintained trails, and wooded areas, making it a great option for ATV riders who love traversing rugged terrain and navigating natural obstacles.
When you navigate this rugged terrain, you'll be glad you've got sturdy clamps, like the ST-ADP-SQ .75 Stealth Clamp, on your sound bar to keep your gear in place.
River Neck is made up of nearly 55 miles of trails and over 1,100 acres of land, so you have plenty of space to explore on your own or in a small group away from any crowds. This park is also open late, so you can enjoy a night ride. Then consider camping during your trip too. River Neck offers a few cabins, but it has many more primitive camping spots for tents and a few RV spots. Just make sure to call for the availability ahead of time, especially if you're hauling an RV.
You can enjoy River Neck Acres ATV Park on the weekends from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sundays. It's located at 4459 River Neck Road #5002 in Florence.
Broken Nut Off Road Park
Climb or crawl down steep ravines and hills, twist around the ATV trails, and splash through the mud pits at Broken Nut Off Road Park in Jefferson, South Carolina. You'll also find terrain with sand, clay, loose dirt, and hard earth, so there's a healthy mix of ground to cover. Plus, the terrain is great for all types of riders, but there are many spots for amateur riders to gain more experience. It's important to note that you'll be sharing the trail with motorbikes, dirt bikes, fellow ATVs and four-wheelers, and SUVs and Jeeps looking to rough it.
You can find Broken Nut Off Road Park at 5496 Eubanks Road in Jefferson. They're only open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 7 p.m.
You've got the ride. You've got the destination. Now you need the gear, including a powerful speaker system for your ATV so you can ride to your own theme music or just your favorite tunes. Wet Sounds has all the powersports sound gear you could ever need.
